Golden Enterprises, Inc. is a holding company. The Company owns all of the issued and outstanding capital stock of Golden Flake Snack Foods, Inc. (Golden Flake). Golden Flake is the subsidiary of the Company. The Company, through Golden Flake, produces, markets and distributes snack products in the Southeastern United States. The Company sells snack items through its own sales organization and independent distributors to commercial establishments that sell food products. Golden Flake offers salted snack items, such as potato chips, tortilla chips, corn chips, fried pork skins, baked and fried cheese curls, onion rings, puff corn and popcorn. Golden Flake also sells canned dips, pretzels, peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, dried meat products and nuts packaged by other manufacturers using the Golden Flake label. Golden Flake's products are sold through a range of channels, supermarkets, dollar stores and Internet sales, through its store and others within its marketing area.
