What are analysts saying about Discovery Communications stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Discovery Communications stock:
According to Zacks Investment Research, "Shares of Discovery Communications underperformed the broader industry in the past one year. The company has an unimpressive earnings history. It missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in two of the last four quarters and has an average negative surprise 0.86%. In the third quarter, the company's results were hurt by low advertising revenues. Adverse foreign currency movements also acted as a spoiler. We expect the headwinds to persist in the fourth quarter as well. Concerns related to advertising revenues remain as these largely depend on viewer ratings. Detailed results should be out on Feb 14. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the fourth quarter and full-year 2016 has declined $0.01 and $0.05 per share, respectively, over the last three months. We are, however, impressed by Discovery's efforts to reward shareholders through buy backs." (1/25/2017)
Morgan Stanley analysts commented, "We raise our EPS estimates based on lower opex growth and an improved tax rate. Inclusion in new skinny bundles could help abate subscriber headwinds domestically, but we remain cautious on cord- shaving trends for Discovery and the industry broadly." (5/24/2016)
