DFC Global Corp., formerly Dollar Financial Corp., is an international non-bank provider of alternative financial services, unsecured short term consumer loans, secured pawn loans, check cashing, money transfers and reloadable prepaid debit cards. Its products and services, including its unsecured short-term consumer loans, secured pawn loans and check cashing and gold buying services, provide customers with access to cash for living expenses and other needs. In addition to these core offerings, it offers its customers ancillary services, including Western Union money orders and money transfers, reloadable VISA prepaid debit cards and foreign currency exchange. In December 2013, the Company announced that it has completed the acquisition of Monte Caja Oro, a chain of 27 stores primarily located in the Andalusian and Catalonian regions of Spain. In June 2014, Lone Star Funds acquired DFC Global Corp.
