BlackRock EcoSolutions Investment Trust is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Trust’s investment objective is to provide current income, current gains and long-term capital appreciation. The Trust seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its assets in equity securities issued by companies that are engaged in one or more of New Energy (e.g., products, technologies and services connected to the efficient use of energy or the provision or manufacture of alternative forms of energy), water resources and agriculture business segments. The Trust may invest directly in such securities or synthetically through the use of derivatives. The Trust utilizes an option writing (selling) strategy to enhance dividend yield. The Trust’s investment advisor is BlackRock Advisors, LLC.
