About The Gabelli Healthcare & Wellness Trust Stock (NYSE:GRX)

The Gabelli Healthcare and Wellness Trust is a closed-ended equity mutual fund launched by GAMCO Investors, Inc. Closed-ended funds are similar to mutual funds in that they invest in a basket of stocks but differ in that there is a fixed number of shares and no new capital can be injected. The Gabelli Healthcare and Wellness Trust differs from an ETF in that it is actively and not passively managed. The fund is managed by Gabelli Funds, LLC, a subsidiary of GAMCO Investors, Inc, and invests in the healthcare sector of the public equity markets worldwide.

The Gabelli Healthcare and Wellness Trust maintains a balanced portfolio of companies whose primary operationsare in the healthcare and wellness sector including food & beverage. The top 10 holdings accounted for less than 25% of the portfolio in Q3 2022 with individual holding sizes running from 2.1% to 3.2% for the #1 holding, CVS. Also in the top five are Cigna, Nestle, and Johnson & Johnson.

The Gabelli Health and Wellness Trust is not limited in size or scope of the underlying business so long as the investment is sound. The company invests in stocks of all market capitalizations and sector so long as the underlying business is health or wellness related.

The fund’s management is overseen by Mario J. Gabelli, Chairman and CEO of GAMCO Investors, Inc. He and his tema benchmarks the fund against the S&P 500 Index, the S&P 500 Consumer Staples Index, and S&P 500 Health Care Index in an effort to maintain the most reasonable comparisons. GAMCO was founded in 1976 and has since grown to be managed more than a dozen publicly traded funds. The Gabelli Healthcare & Wellness Trust was launched in February 2007.
