Nuveen Dividend Advantage Municipal Fund 2 (the Fund) is a diversified, closed-end investment company. The Fund seeks to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax by investing in a diversified portfolio of municipal obligations issued by state and local government authorities or certain the United States territories. The Fund invests in municipal securities that are exempt from federal income taxes. The Fund invests approximately 80% of its managed assets in municipal securities rated investment grade. The Fund may invest approximately 20% of its managed assets in municipal securities rated below investment quality. The Fund invests a range of sectors, such as healthcare, tax obligation, transportation, the United States guaranteed, consumer staples, utilities, water and sewer, education and civic organizations, and industrials.
