Energy XXI Ltd is an oil and natural gas exploration and production company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and operation of oil and natural gas properties onshore in Louisiana and Texas and in the Gulf of Mexico Shelf (GoM Shelf). The Company owns and operates nine of the GoM Shelf oil fields. As of June 30, 2016, its total proved reserves were 86.6 million barrel of oil equivalent (MMBOE) of which 77% were oil and 100% were classified as proved developed. As of June 30, 2016, the Company operated or had an interest in 635 gross producing wells on 452,083 net developed acres, including interests in 60 producing fields. As of June 30, 2016, its properties were West Delta 73 Field, Main Pass 61 Field, South Pass 49 Field, South Timbalier 54 Field, Ship Shoal 208 Field, West Delta 30 Field, South Pass 78 and South Timbalier 21.
