North Valley Bancorp is a bank holding company. The Company owns 100% of its principal subsidiaries, North Valley Bank (NVB or the Bank), North Valley Trading Company (Trading Company), which is inactive, North Valley Capital Trust I, North Valley Capital Trust II, North Valley Capital Trust III, and North Valley Capital Statutory Trust IV. As of December 31, 2011 the Company had $456.21 million in total loans and $766.24 million in total deposits. As of December 31, 2011, NVB operated 24 banking offices in Shasta, Trinity, Humboldt, Del Norte, Yolo, Sonoma, Placer, and Mendocino Counties. NVB conducts a commercial and retail banking business, which includes accepting demand, savings, and money market rate deposit accounts and time deposits, and making commercial, real estate and consumer loans. It also issues cashier's checks and money orders, sells travelers' checks and provides safe deposit boxes and other customary banking services.
