The company’s major assets included the Bozshakol open-pit copper mine in northern Kazakhstan and the Aktogay mine in the east of the country. It also operated the East Region and Bozymchak assets, which supported copper production and related mining activities. KAZ Minerals served global metals markets through the sale and export of its mineral products.

The business originated from Kazakhmys and was renamed KAZ Minerals PLC following a 2014 corporate restructuring that separated its growth-oriented copper operations from certain mature assets. KAZ Minerals was acquired by Nova Resources in 2021, after which it ceased to be a publicly listed company. The KZMYY security represents the company’s former over-the-counter trading reference.
