About Japan Airlines

Japan Airlines (OTCMKTS:JAPSY) Co., Ltd. (OTCMKTS: JAPSY) is Japan’s flag carrier and one of the country’s largest airlines, offering scheduled passenger and cargo air transportation services. Headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, the company operates a diversified network that spans domestic routes across Japan as well as international destinations in Asia, North America, Europe and Oceania. Japan Airlines provides first class, business class and economy class seating on its long-haul fleet, and maintains a comprehensive schedule of regional and domestic flights to major Japanese cities.

Founded in 1951 as the national airline, Japan Airlines was privatized in 1987 and subsequently expanded its route network and fleet through strategic partnerships and alliances. The airline underwent a major restructuring following bankruptcy protection in 2010, emerging with a leaner cost structure and renewed focus on customer service. In 2013, Japan Airlines joined the Oneworld airline alliance, enabling code-share agreements and seamless connectivity with partner carriers worldwide.

The company’s core business segments include passenger transportation, cargo logistics and ancillary services such as in-flight catering, ground handling and travel agency operations. Its cargo division leverages both wide-body freighter aircraft and belly capacity in passenger airliners to move goods ranging from automotive parts to perishables. Japan Airlines also operates a loyalty program—JAL Mileage Bank—that provides customers with travel benefits, co-brand credit cards and partnerships with hotels, railways and other travel-related services.

Japan Airlines serves a wide geographic footprint with hubs at Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports. To bolster its market position, the airline has invested in fleet modernization, introducing fuel-efficient Boeing 787 Dreamliners and upgrading cabin interiors to enhance passenger comfort. Leadership at Japan Airlines is headed by President and CEO Yuji Akasaka, supported by a management team overseeing digital innovation initiatives, sustainability programs and expansion of low-cost subsidiary carriers to capture emerging travel demand in the Asia–Pacific region.
