About Ivanhoe Mines

Ivanhoe Mines (OTCMKTS:IVPAF) is a Canadian mining company focused on the exploration, development and production of base and precious metals. Operating primarily in Africa and Asia, Ivanhoe concentrates on large, high-grade copper, nickel and platinum-group metals deposits, alongside zinc and gold resources. The company’s business model spans the full project lifecycle, from exploration and resource delineation through feasibility studies, permitting and construction to ongoing mine operations.

One of Ivanhoe’s flagship assets is the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which ranks among the world’s highest-grade major copper discoveries. Developed in partnership with Zijin Mining Group, Kamoa-Kakula has progressed rapidly from initial discovery to commercial production, with plans for phased expansions to increase output. In Mongolia, Ivanhoe holds a significant interest in the Oyu Tolgoi copper–gold project, a tier-one deposit co-owned with Rio Tinto and the Government of Mongolia; this operation is a cornerstone asset in Mongolia’s mining sector.

Beyond its two core projects, Ivanhoe Mines is advancing the Platreef platinum-group metals–nickel-copper project in South Africa’s Bushveld Complex and the Kipushi zinc-copper-lead mine in the DRC. Both projects benefit from Ivanhoe’s technical expertise in underground mining and robust local partnerships. Platreef targets high-grade nickel and platinum-group metal mineralization near the surface, while Kipushi is positioned to restart a historic, high-grade zinc operation. These developments underscore the company’s strategy of building a geographically diversified portfolio of long-life, low-cost mines.

Founded in 1993 by entrepreneur and mining financier Robert Friedland, Ivanhoe Mines is led today by a seasoned management team that emphasizes sustainable practices, community engagement and strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards. Under the leadership of Executive Co-Chairmen Robert Friedland and Yufeng “Miles” Sun, alongside the company’s executive officers, Ivanhoe continues to secure strategic partnerships and financing to support its multi-asset growth pipeline. The company’s longstanding focus on innovation, stakeholder collaboration and shareholder value positions it to address the global demand for critical minerals.
