About Lithium Americas (Argentina)

Lithium Americas (Argentina) (NYSE:LAR) is a resource development company focused on the exploration, development and production of lithium deposits in the Americas. The company’s principal assets include the Cauchari-Olaroz brine project in Argentina and the Thacker Pass hard rock project in Nevada. Through these projects, Lithium Americas aims to supply sustainably sourced lithium to meet growing global demand for electric vehicle batteries and energy storage applications.

The Cauchari-Olaroz project is a joint venture in Jujuy Province, Argentina, conducted in partnership with Ganfeng Lithium. This salar brine deposit benefits from high lithium concentrations, favorable climate conditions, and existing infrastructure, including roads, power and water access. Since acquiring the project, Lithium Americas has advanced engineering studies, secured environmental permits and begun the process to build evaporation ponds and processing facilities, positioning Cauchari-Olaroz as a future low-cost producer of battery-grade lithium carbonate.

In Nevada, Lithium Americas is developing the Thacker Pass project in collaboration with regional stakeholders and regulatory authorities. As one of the largest known lithium claystone deposits in North America, Thacker Pass offers significant scale potential and proximity to U.S. battery and automotive manufacturers. The company has completed a feasibility study, engaged in community consultation and is advancing site preparation, permitting and infrastructure development to enable commercial mining and processing.

Lithium Americas is led by CEO Jonathan C. Evans, whose background spans project finance, mining and corporate development. The executive team combines technical, environmental and financial expertise to guide the company through permitting, construction and eventual production. With a commitment to responsible resource development, Lithium Americas seeks to integrate best practices in sustainability, safety and community engagement as it builds a long-term lithium supply platform for the energy transition.
