About Minerals Technologies

Minerals Technologies (NYSE:MTX) Inc is a global resource- and technology-based company that develops, produces and markets a broad range of specialty mineral, mineral-based and synthetic mineral products and related systems and services. The company operates through three principal segments—Specialty Minerals, Performance Materials and Refractories—and serves a diverse set of end markets, including paper, plastics, paints and coatings, consumer products, environmental and energy development.

In its Specialty Minerals segment, Minerals Technologies supplies high-purity talc and other mica-based minerals used as reinforcing and functional additives in paper, paint, rubber and plastics. Its Performance Materials business produces bentonite, perlite, precipitated silica and other products designed for applications such as drilling fluids, foundry sand binders, barrier membranes and wastewater treatment. The Refractories division offers thermal and environmental monolithic refractory solutions, including castables, gun mixes, shotcretes and ramming materials, primarily for steel, non-ferrous metals and cement industries.

Headquartered in New York, Minerals Technologies maintains a global footprint with manufacturing facilities, research centers and sales offices in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Africa. Its products are used by customers in more than 70 countries, and the company emphasizes technical service, product development and tailored solutions to meet local performance and environmental requirements. Regular collaboration with academic institutions and industry consortia underpins its research and development efforts.

Founded in 1993 through the consolidation of several mineral operations, Minerals Technologies has grown both organically and through targeted acquisitions, including the 2014 merger with AMCOL International. The company is led by Gerald J. Golan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, whose tenure has focused on expanding the firm’s high-value product lines and strengthening its sustainability initiatives. A commitment to operational excellence and strategic innovation remains central to the company’s long-term growth strategy.
