About CVR Energy

CVR Energy (NYSE:CVI), Inc. (NYSE: CVI) is a diversified holding company with two principal business segments: petroleum refining and nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, CVR Energy operates two medium–complexity refineries in Coffeyville, Kansas, and Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and a nitrogen fertilizer complex in Coffeyville. The company focuses on converting feedstocks into a range of refined petroleum products and agrichemicals, serving both industrial and agricultural markets across the United States.

In its petroleum refining segment, CVR Energy processes crude oil into transportation fuels, including gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, as well as specialty products such as asphalt and petrochemical feedstocks. Both refineries employ flexible processing capabilities—such as hydrotreating and catalytic cracking—to optimize yields in response to changing market conditions. The resultant products are transported via pipeline, barge and rail to distribution terminals in the Plains, Midcontinent and Gulf Coast regions, where they are sold to end users and wholesale customers.

The nitrogen fertilizer segment, reconstituted in 2020 following the merger with CVR Partners LP, encompasses the Coffeyville Nitrogen Fertilizer Complex. This facility produces anhydrous ammonia, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) solutions and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Leveraging access to low‐cost natural gas, the complex maintains high operational efficiency and reliability, supplying major agricultural markets in the Midwest while also serving industrial customers that use ammonia derivatives in chemical processes.

Formed in 2005 as a spin‐off, CVR Energy has grown through strategic acquisitions and infrastructure investments, positioning itself to manage commodity cycles and capture value across its integrated operations. Under the leadership of President and CEO David J. Lamp Jr., the company continues to explore opportunities to enhance operational performance, expand market access and drive long‐term shareholder value in the energy and agricultural sectors.
