SKYX Platforms NASDAQ: SKYX CEO Lenny Sokolow outlined the company’s plug-and-play electrical and smart-home technology strategy, recent merger with Deako, and plans to expand across homebuilder, hospitality and commercial-development markets.
Sokolow said SKYX’s products are designed to simplify the installation and replacement of lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, exit signs and other electrical devices. The company’s ceiling-based SkyPlatform and SkyPlug systems are intended to allow compatible fixtures and accessories to connect without conventional wiring work, which Sokolow said can reduce installation time, labor costs and safety risks.
According to Sokolow, the company’s technology has received approvals from organizations including UL, the National Fire Protection Association, the National Electrical Code, ANSI and NEMA. He said SKYX has become a standard within 10 National Electrical Code provisions over roughly 14 years and has received a generic designation of “weight support ceiling receptacle,” or WSCR.
Sokolow said the company has submitted applications seeking mandatory-code adoption for its technology. He characterized mandatory adoption as the next step for the business, although he did not provide a timeline.
Deako Merger Expands Builder Channel
The CEO said SKYX recently closed its merger with Deako, a Silicon Valley-based smart-home company focused on homebuilders. Deako generated more than $26 million in revenue in 2025, according to Sokolow, and has shipped more than 32 million smart-home technology and switch units during its operating history.
He said Deako works with 50 U.S. homebuilders, including D.R. Horton and Toll Brothers, and that the combined company recently announced Miranda Homes as another builder relationship. Sokolow said Deako’s investor group now owns about 15% of SKYX following the merger.
SKYX ended the second quarter with approximately $27 million in cash and had recorded 10 consecutive quarters of year-over-year comparable growth, Sokolow said. He also said SKYX had finished 2025 with $92 million in revenue.
The company expects the combined builder-channel opportunity to support a projected pipeline of roughly 4 million units, with a blended average selling price of about $50. Sokolow said the companies expect approximately $6 million in cost-saving synergies from their combined purchasing and ordering power.
- SKYX and Deako together have 120 granted patents and pending patent applications, according to Sokolow.
- The combined product offering is expected to address about 80 to 90 electrical connection points in a home, including ceiling fixtures, wall switches, outlets and outdoor products.
- Sokolow said SKYX believes its average product selling price could be up to five times Deako’s average price in certain applications.
Smart-Home Platform and Recurring Revenue Plans
Sokolow described SKYX’s third-generation all-in-one platform as a ceiling-mounted smart-home hub that can incorporate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, lighting controls, motion detection, temperature and humidity monitoring, intercom functions, smoke and carbon-dioxide sensing, and backup lighting.
He said the system is designed as an open platform and can work with products and ecosystems including Google Home, Apple Siri, Alarm.com and Control4. The company also intends to support Matter, a smart-home connectivity standard designed to enable devices from different manufacturers to communicate with one another.
The company plans to begin production of its Generation 3 platform during the current quarter, Sokolow said. He added that SKYX sees future recurring-revenue opportunities through monitoring services, emergency-response features, content services and anonymized data aggregation, though he described data monetization as a longer-term opportunity dependent on reaching critical mass.
Sokolow said the company’s SkyFan & Turbo Heater, a ceiling fixture combining a fan, heater and light, is already in big-box retail channels. He expects the product to begin contributing more meaningfully in the fourth quarter and first quarter of the following year.
Hospitality and Development Projects
Sokolow highlighted the use of SKYX technology in hospitality renovations, where he said the plug-and-play approach can reduce the time required to install or replace lighting, emergency fixtures and other devices. He cited a SpringHill Suites Marriott renovation demonstration and said the company has announced renovation projects at hotels in France, Prague and Durham, North Carolina.
The CEO also cited announced development projects that include a planned smart-city project in Miami, two Trump Towers in Hyderabad, India, multifamily developments in Austin and San Antonio, and smart-home communities in North Carolina, Pittsburgh and New York. He said the Miami project is expected to span three to four years and could involve more than 500,000 SKYX units, depending on product mix.
Sokolow said SKYX has also announced a collaboration agreement covering Saudi Arabia and Egypt, though he noted that activity there is currently quiet because of the war.
SKYX has signed a five-year, non-exclusive licensing agreement with lighting company Eurofase, according to Sokolow. He said the company’s broader sales strategy includes builder relationships as well as retail distribution through Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, Walmart, Amazon, Wayfair and other channels.
