NortonLifeLock Inc. was a cybersecurity company focused on helping consumers protect their devices, online identities and personal information. Its product portfolio included Norton antivirus and internet security software, LifeLock identity-theft protection and monitoring services, password-management tools, virtual private network services and related privacy and device-security solutions.

The company was created in 2019 when Broadcom acquired Symantec’s enterprise security business and renamed the remaining consumer-focused company NortonLifeLock. NortonLifeLock served customers in the United States and international markets through direct subscriptions, retail distribution and partnerships with telecommunications and other businesses.

In 2022, NortonLifeLock completed its acquisition of Avast and subsequently adopted the name Gen Digital Inc. The combined company continued operating well-known consumer cybersecurity brands, including Norton, Avast, LifeLock, Avira, AVG and CCleaner. NortonLifeLock’s former Nasdaq ticker, NLOK, was retired following the company’s rebranding as Gen Digital.
