MPLX LP (NYSE:MPLX) is a master limited partnership that owns and operates midstream energy infrastructure in the United States. The company provides transportation, storage and processing services for crude oil, refined products, natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs), supporting producers, refiners and other energy customers.

MPLX’s assets include gathering and processing systems, pipelines, storage facilities, fractionation plants, marine terminals and inland and coastal logistics operations. Its network serves several major U.S. producing regions, including the Permian, Bakken, Marcellus and Utica basins, and connects those supply areas with refineries, export facilities and other downstream markets.

MPLX was formed by Marathon Petroleum Corporation in 2012 and remains closely associated with the refiner through its sponsorship and strategic relationship. The partnership’s operations are organized broadly around logistics and storage, as well as gathering and processing. Michael J. Hennigan has served as MPLX’s president and chief executive officer.
