Aixtron’s equipment is used in the manufacture of components for power electronics, radio-frequency and wireless communications, optoelectronics, lasers, light-emitting diodes and other advanced semiconductor applications. Its systems support processes such as metal-organic chemical vapor deposition and chemical vapor deposition, which enable the formation of highly controlled semiconductor layers on wafers.

Founded in 1983, Aixtron is headquartered in Herzogenrath, Germany, and serves semiconductor manufacturers and research institutions internationally. The company’s leadership is headed by Chief Executive Officer Felix Grawert, who has served in that role since 2017.
