Cathay Financial was established in 2001 as part of Taiwan’s financial-holding-company reforms and is headquartered in Taipei. In addition to its domestic operations, the group has expanded into selected markets across Asia, including mainland China and Southeast Asia. Cathay Financial is chaired by Tsai Hong-tu, and its shares are listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the symbol 2882.
