Coronado operates mining assets in Australia and the United States. In Australia, its portfolio includes the Curragh complex in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, one of the country’s major metallurgical coal-producing regions. In the United States, the company operates mines in the Central Appalachian region, including the Buchanan, Logan and Greenbrier operations.

The company was established with a portfolio of coal assets assembled by AMCI, an international mining and natural resources investment group, and became publicly listed in Australia in 2018. Coronado Global Resources is led by Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Douglas Thompson. Its business is focused primarily on producing and marketing coal for steelmaking and energy customers across the markets served by its Australian and U.S. operations.
