Inter Pipeline was a Canadian energy infrastructure company that owned and operated transportation, storage and processing assets serving the oil sands and other energy markets. Its businesses included oil sands transportation systems, conventional oil pipelines, natural gas liquids extraction facilities and petrochemical operations.

The company’s oil sands infrastructure transported bitumen and other hydrocarbon products in Alberta, while its NGL business recovered ethane, propane and related products used as industrial feedstocks. Inter Pipeline also operated bulk liquid storage terminals and related logistics facilities in Canada and Europe, supporting customers in the energy, chemical and industrial sectors.

Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Inter Pipeline operated as a publicly traded company for much of its history. Brookfield Infrastructure acquired Inter Pipeline in 2021, after which the company became privately held and its assets were integrated into Brookfield’s infrastructure operations.
