The company markets products under brands including Hardox wear plate, Strenx performance steel, Docol automotive steel and GreenCoat color-coated products. SSAB also supplies steel and related materials through its distribution businesses, including Tibnor, and provides construction products and solutions through Ruukki Construction.

Founded in 1978 through the combination of Swedish steelmaking operations, SSAB has production facilities in Sweden, Finland and the United States, with sales and customers in markets around the world. The company is also developing lower-emission steelmaking technologies and products, including fossil-free steel initiatives designed to reduce the use of coal and associated carbon emissions in production.

SSAB is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Johnny Sjöström serves as the company’s president and chief executive officer.
