Unicaja Banco was established in 2011 following the transformation of the banking business associated with Unicaja into a standalone financial institution. It became a publicly traded company in 2017. In 2021, Unicaja Banco completed its merger with Liberbank, expanding its geographic reach and combining the two institutions’ banking operations under the Unicaja Banco name.
