Air France-KLM (OTCMKTS:AFLYY) is a European airline group formed in 2004 through the merger of Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The group operates passenger and cargo air transportation through its principal airline brands, Air France and KLM, along with low-cost carrier Transavia. Its airlines serve domestic, European and long-haul international routes linking Europe with destinations across North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Air France is based in France and operates major hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports, while KLM is headquartered in the Netherlands and uses Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as its primary hub. Transavia operates from several bases in France and the Netherlands, providing leisure-oriented and short- to medium-haul service. The group also offers connecting travel through its extensive route network and partnerships, including membership in the SkyTeam airline alliance.
In addition to scheduled passenger flights, Air France-KLM provides air cargo transportation, aircraft maintenance, engineering and other aviation-related services. Its maintenance activities support the group’s aircraft and third-party airline customers, while the Flying Blue loyalty program serves customers of Air France, KLM, Transavia and participating partners.
Air France-KLM is led by Benjamin Smith, who has served as chief executive officer since 2018. The group’s operations are supported by a broad workforce and a fleet serving both business and leisure travelers throughout its international network.
