About West Japan Railway

West Japan Railway (OTCMKTS:WJRYY) Co., known as JR West, is a Japanese passenger railway company formed in 1987 following the breakup and privatization of Japanese National Railways. Headquartered in Osaka, the company serves western Japan, with a network covering major urban and regional areas in the Kansai, Chugoku and Hokuriku regions.

JR West operates conventional commuter and intercity rail services, as well as the Sanyo Shinkansen connecting Shin-Osaka with Hakata and the Hokuriku Shinkansen in western Japan. Its railway operations serve residents, business travelers and tourists, including visitors traveling to destinations such as Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Kanazawa.

Beyond passenger rail transportation, JR West operates businesses in areas including bus transportation, railway-related retail, shopping centers, hotels, real estate development and property management. These businesses support the company’s transportation network and contribute to the development of stations and surrounding communities.
