CenterPoint Energy (NYSE:CNP) (NYSE:CNP) is an energy delivery company headquartered in Houston, Texas. The company focuses on electric and natural gas utility operations, delivering essential energy to residential, commercial and industrial customers.

CenterPoint operates electric transmission and distribution systems in the Houston metropolitan area and parts of southwestern Indiana. It also provides natural gas distribution and related energy services in several states, including Texas, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi and Ohio. Its activities include maintaining utility infrastructure, connecting customers to energy supplies and supporting system reliability and safety.

The company traces its history to Reliant Energy and became CenterPoint Energy following a 2002 corporate separation. CenterPoint is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Jason Wells, who has held senior leadership roles with the company since joining it in 2006.
