About Fomento Economico Mexicano

Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A.B. de C.V. (FEMSA) is a Mexico-based multinational company with operations in beverage production, retail, and logistics. Through Coca-Cola FEMSA, it produces, distributes, and markets Coca-Cola products and other beverages under a portfolio that includes soft drinks, bottled water, juices, and related products.

Coca-Cola FEMSA serves customers across several Latin American markets, including Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Argentina, and Venezuela. FEMSA also operates the OXXO convenience-store chain, which offers beverages, food, household goods, financial services, and other everyday products. Its retail activities have expanded beyond Mexico into select markets in Latin America and Europe through additional store and pharmacy operations.

FEMSA traces its origins to 1890, when Cervecería Cuauhtémoc was established in Monterrey, Mexico. The company later developed into a diversified consumer business and entered the Coca-Cola bottling industry in 1979. FEMSA is led by Executive Chairman José Antonio Fernández Carbajal and Chief Executive Officer Ian Craig.
