About Astellas Pharma

Astellas Pharma (OTCMKTS:ALPMY) is a Japan-based pharmaceutical company that researches, develops, manufactures and commercializes prescription medicines for patients worldwide. Its portfolio focuses on areas of significant unmet medical need, including oncology, immunology, urology, ophthalmology, neuroscience and medical conditions related to genetic regulation.

The company’s products include XTANDI (enzalutamide) for certain prostate cancers, XOSPATA (gilteritinib) for acute myeloid leukemia, PADCEV (enfortumab vedotin-ejfv) for certain urothelial cancers, and PROGRAF (tacrolimus), an immunosuppressant used primarily to help prevent organ rejection following transplantation. Astellas also develops medicines and investigational therapies through internal research and collaborations with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Astellas was established in 2005 through the merger of Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co. and Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co., two Japanese companies with histories dating back several decades. Headquartered in Tokyo, the company serves markets across North America, Europe, Asia and other regions through a global research, development and commercial organization. Naoki Okamura serves as Astellas Pharma’s president and chief executive officer.
