The company changed its name in 2013 after selling The Washington Post newspaper to Jeff Bezos. Today, Graham Holdings operates businesses in education, television broadcasting, health care and other industries.

Its largest operating business is Kaplan, which provides educational services, professional training, test preparation, higher education programs and related learning products. Graham Media Group owns and operates local television stations in several U.S. markets, while Graham Healthcare Group provides home health and hospice services. The company also owns or invests in a range of other businesses, including automotive dealerships and manufacturing and consumer-oriented operations.

Graham Holdings is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, and primarily serves customers in the United States, with certain businesses and educational programs operating internationally. Donald E. Graham, the former publisher of The Washington Post, serves as chairman, while Timothy J. O'Shaughnessy serves as president and chief executive officer.
