About Mesa Royalty Trust

Mesa Royalty Trust (NYSE:MTR) (NYSE: MTR) is a grantor trust that holds interests in oil and natural gas properties in the United States. The trust does not operate wells or directly provide energy services; instead, it receives distributions derived from the production and sale of hydrocarbons from the properties in which it owns royalty or net profits interests.

The trust’s primary assets are interests in oil and gas properties located in the Hugoton Field of southwestern Kansas and the San Juan Basin of northwestern New Mexico. Its revenues are therefore influenced by production volumes, operating expenses, and oil and natural gas prices in those regions.

Mesa Royalty Trust was established in 1979 in connection with assets formerly associated with Mesa Petroleum Company. As a trust, it generally has no traditional operating workforce or broad product portfolio, and its activities are focused on administering its royalty interests and distributing available proceeds to unitholders. Day-to-day property operations are performed by third-party working-interest owners or operators.
