About Bed Bath & Beyond

Bed Bath & Beyond (NYSE:BBBY) Inc. was a U.S.-based home goods retailer that operated stores and e-commerce businesses under the Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy BABY and Harmon banners. Its merchandise included bedding, bath products, kitchenware, home furnishings, décor, storage solutions and other household essentials, while buybuy BABY focused on products for infants and young children.

The company was founded in 1971 as Bed 'n Bath and became Bed Bath & Beyond in 1987. At its peak, it served customers primarily in the United States and Canada through a nationwide store network and online channels. The company was known for its broad product assortment, coupon-based promotions and registry services for weddings and new parents.

Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2023 and subsequently wound down its physical retail operations. Overstock.com acquired certain Bed Bath & Beyond intellectual property and digital assets through the bankruptcy process and later relaunched the brand online. As a result, the original Bed Bath & Beyond operating company is no longer a traditional publicly traded retailer under its former NYSE ticker, BBBY.
