Ahold Earnings Headlines

Gold majors have a big problem
Newmont spent 15 billion dollars acquiring Newcrest in 2023, the largest deal in gold mining history. Yet production stayed at 5.9 million ounces, unchanged from 2020. Newmont, Barrick and Agnico all face the same reserve shortage, pushing majors toward acquiring smaller producing miners. Recent deals show the pattern: Rupert Resources jumped 67 percent and G2 Goldfields jumped 79 percent the day their buyouts were announced. Analyst Garrett Goggin has identified four junior miners he believes are next on the shopping list.tc pixel

About Ahold

Ahold (OTCMKTS:ADRNY), now known as Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize N.V., is an international food retail and consumer services company formed through the 2016 merger of Dutch retailer Ahold and Belgian retailer Delhaize Group. Its operations focus primarily on supermarkets, convenience stores, online grocery platforms and complementary consumer businesses.

The company serves customers in the United States and Europe through a portfolio of local brands. Its businesses have included Albert Heijn and bol in the Netherlands; Delhaize in Belgium and Luxembourg; and Food Lion, Hannaford, Giant Food and other grocery brands in the United States. Product offerings generally include fresh food, packaged groceries, household goods, health and beauty products, prepared foods and related services.

Ahold Delhaize also operates digital commerce, grocery delivery and loyalty platforms, while selected brands provide pharmacy, convenience, meal and alcoholic beverage services. The company traces its roots to Albert Heijn, a Dutch grocery business founded in 1887, and has expanded through acquisitions and the development of regional retail brands. Frans Muller serves as chief executive officer.
