About Hornbeck Offshore Services

Hornbeck Offshore Services (NYSE:HOS) is an offshore marine transportation company that historically provided support services to the oil and gas industry. The company operated a fleet of high-specification offshore supply vessels (OSVs) and multi-purpose support vessels (MPSVs), transporting equipment, supplies and personnel to offshore drilling and production facilities.

Its vessels were designed for deepwater and other demanding offshore applications, including platform supply, construction support, subsea operations, inspection, maintenance and intervention work. Hornbeck primarily served customers operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and, at various times, pursued opportunities in other international offshore markets.

Founded in 1996, the company was based in Covington, Louisiana, and was led for much of its publicly traded history by founder and chief executive officer Todd M. Hornbeck. Hornbeck Offshore Services filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2020 and completed a financial restructuring in 2021. Its former common stock traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HOS before the restructuring.
