About Pepco

Pepco (NASDAQ:POM) Holdings, Inc. was a regulated electric utility holding company that operated through several regional utility subsidiaries. Its businesses focused on the generation procurement, transmission, distribution and retail delivery of electricity to residential, commercial and governmental customers.

The company’s principal utilities included Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco), which served customers in Washington, D.C., and parts of Maryland; Delmarva Power, which operated in Delaware and portions of Maryland and Virginia; and Atlantic City Electric, which served southern New Jersey. These utilities maintained local electric distribution networks and provided related customer and energy-delivery services.

Pepco Holdings was acquired by Exelon Corporation in 2016, and its former utility operations became part of Exelon’s regulated utility portfolio. As a result, Pepco Holdings is primarily of historical relevance as an independent publicly traded company rather than a standalone listed utility.
