GigaCloud Technology NASDAQ: GCT reported record third-quarter revenue and earnings per share, as growth in Europe and higher logistics service pricing helped offset a weak U.S. furniture market.
Revenue rose more than 27% from a year earlier to $424 million, while earnings per share increased 42% to $1.41, Chief Financial Officer Erica Wei said on the company’s earnings call. Net income rose 36% to $51 million. Share repurchases contributed to the faster growth in per-share earnings, she said.
For the fourth quarter, GigaCloud expects revenue of $425 million to $450 million. Wei said the company does not anticipate a major structural change in the mix between product and service revenue from the third quarter.
Marketplace Growth Led by Europe
President Iman Schrock said trailing 12-month gross merchandise value, or GMV, on the GigaCloud Marketplace surpassed $1.8 billion as of Sept. 30, up 24% year over year. Active third-party sellers increased 22% to more than 1,500, while active buyers rose 21% to nearly 14,000.
U.S. marketplace GMV grew 13% during the quarter despite continued weakness in the domestic furniture market, Schrock said. Europe expanded more rapidly, with marketplace GMV increasing 65% year over year. Third-party GMV in the region grew nearly 330% and contributed approximately $30 million during the quarter.
Wei said Europe performed better than the company initially expected, as did logistics pricing. European product revenue rose 46% to $129 million and represented 45% of global product revenue. U.S. product revenue increased 16% to $141 million, with New Classic accounting for 11 percentage points of that growth and organic growth accounting for the remaining five.
Europe currently has slightly better margins than the U.S. because the market is less crowded and competitive, Wei said. She expects the margins to converge over the long term as more participants enter the region, though she did not provide a timeline.
Margins and New Classic Integration
Service revenue increased 26% to $136 million, supported by demand for ocean freight, warehousing, last-mile delivery and packaging, as well as higher platform commissions. Service gross margin improved sequentially to 15.3%.
Wei attributed the improvement partly to favorable ocean freight pricing dynamics. Long-term contracts helped limit increases in the company’s costs, while customer prices reflected higher market spot rates. Ground services also performed better, she said.
Product revenue grew 28% to $288 million, but product gross margin declined sequentially to 29.4%. Wei cited higher ocean and last-mile logistics costs, competition for GigaCloud’s first-party products from fast-growing third-party sellers in Europe, and seasonal discounting of outdoor products. Total company gross margin was 24.9%, down from 25.6% in the previous quarter.
The New Classic portfolio generated $14 million in quarterly revenue, approximately 30% below its revenue in the comparable period before GigaCloud acquired it. Wei said the decline was consistent with the company’s strategy of phasing out weaker products and introducing offerings with stronger sales and margin potential.
Schrock said GigaCloud debuted 140 new collections, representing roughly 500 stock-keeping units, at the October High Point Furniture Market. Most sales from those introductions are expected in 2027 rather than 2026. Since the acquisition, about two dozen New Classic retailer customers have begun sourcing through the marketplace, with more than 60 others in the pipeline, according to Wei.
Cash, Buybacks and Acquisition Plans
GigaCloud generated $56 million in operating cash flow during the quarter and ended the period with $418 million in total liquidity, including cash equivalents, restricted cash and short-term investments. Wei said the company maintained a debt-free balance sheet.
The company repurchased approximately 492,000 shares for $17.7 million during the quarter and another 88,000 shares for about $5 million afterward. Wei said $115 million remained under the company’s latest $120 million repurchase authorization, which runs through August 2029. Any unused balance at the end of the program will be considered for a one-time special dividend.
GigaCloud is concentrating on integrating New Classic before becoming more active in acquisitions, Wei said. Potential targets include traditional wholesalers and distributors, European logistics providers and technology companies. She described the current furniture market as favorable for buyers, noting that low housing turnover has put pressure on wholesalers and distributors.
Asked about tariffs, Chief Executive Officer Larry Wu said GigaCloud has received government refunds and is passing some funds back to wholesale customers whose pricing had been adjusted for tariffs. He said the net impact on the company is not currently significant.
