Esperanza Resources Corp. (Esperanza) is an exploration stage company. The Company is engaged in acquisition, exploration and development of mineral exploration properties. It is focused on advancing the development of its principal property, the wholly owned Cerro Jumil gold project in Morelos State, Mexico. The Company's projects include San Luis Project, Pucarana, Guadalupe, Biricu and El Canario. The Cerro Jumil property is 100% owned by the Company subject to a 3% net smelter return royalty. In Mexico, the Company controls three concessions totaling 44,333 hectares in the Biricu property in Guerrero, three concessions plus an option on two other concessions totaling 9,521 hectares in the El Canario project, Nuevo Leon, and three concessions totaling 12,510 hectares in the Gallos Blancos project, San Luis Potosi. In Peru, it controls 10 projects totaling 16,853 hectares. In August 2013, Alamos Gold Inc acquired Esperanza.
