SRC Energy Inc. was an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company focused on developing unconventional oil and natural gas properties in the United States. The company’s operations were concentrated in the Denver-Julesburg Basin, primarily in Colorado, where it developed horizontal wells targeting the Wattenberg Field.

The company’s activities included acquiring acreage, drilling and completing wells, producing crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids, and managing related midstream and field operations. SRC Energy was formerly known as Synergy Resources Corporation and adopted the SRC Energy name in 2017.

In 2019, SRC Energy was acquired by PDC Energy in an all-stock transaction, ending SRC Energy’s independent operations and public listing. PDC Energy was subsequently acquired by Chevron Corporation in 2023, and SRC Energy is no longer a standalone publicly traded company.
