IOI Corporation traces its origins to 1969, when it was established as Industrial Oxygen Incorporated Sdn. Bhd., and entered the plantation business during the 1980s. The group is headquartered in Malaysia and has developed an international customer base through its plantation, manufacturing and distribution operations. Its leadership has included members of the Lee family, including Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng, who played a central role in building the group, and his sons, Lee Yeow Chor and Lee Yeow Seng, who have held senior leadership positions.
