Libbey, Inc. was a U.S. manufacturer and marketer of glass tableware. The company produced drinking glasses, stemware, serveware, bakeware and other products for household, hospitality and foodservice use. Its portfolio included the Libbey brand, as well as World Tableware and Syracuse China products serving commercial foodservice customers.

Founded in the early 19th century as the New England Glass Company, Libbey developed into one of the largest glass tableware manufacturers in North America. The company served retail, foodservice and industrial customers through operations and distribution networks in the United States, Mexico and other international markets. Its products were sold through retailers, restaurants, hotels, institutional foodservice providers and other commercial channels.

Libbey filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in 2020 and subsequently completed a restructuring. The business continued operating as Libbey Glass LLC after emerging from bankruptcy. William A. Foley has been identified as the company’s president and chief executive officer following the restructuring. The former public company’s securities traded under the symbol LBYYQ during its bankruptcy proceedings.
