Its products are used in applications including building insulation, refrigeration and cooling equipment, household appliances, hot-water systems, and industrial equipment. va-Q-tec also supplies thermal packaging and temperature-controlled logistics solutions designed to protect pharmaceuticals, vaccines, food, and other temperature-sensitive products during transportation.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Würzburg, Germany, va-Q-tec served customers in Europe and international markets through its own operations and commercial partners. The company was co-founded by Dr. Joachim Kuhn, who served as its long-time chief executive. Kingspan Group acquired a controlling interest in va-Q-tec in 2023, and the company subsequently became part of Kingspan’s operations.
