Galp Energia SGPS Earnings Headlines

The trade I’ve been waiting for since 2011
Ross Givens, Director of Research at Traders Agency, is calling for gold to reach $10,000 an ounce this supercycle - and says that may be conservative. Billionaire Pierre Lassonde has argued for $19,000. Former CIA advisor Jim Rickards targets $27,000 based on a federal revaluation of the gold supply. But the bigger opportunity may not be gold itself. A 'backdoor' gold-linked asset has historically multiplied gold's move by 10x or more - returning 846%, 1,668%, 1,847%, and 1,915% in the last supercycle.tc pixel

About Galp Energia SGPS

Galp Energia SGPS (OTCMKTS:GLPEY) is an integrated energy company headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, with core operations spanning upstream exploration and production, midstream refining, and downstream distribution and marketing. In its upstream segment, the company explores and produces oil and natural gas in regions such as Brazil’s pre-salt basins, African offshore blocks in Angola and Mozambique, and domestic wells in Portugal. Its midstream activities include refining crude oil at the Sines facility and operating a network of pipelines, while downstream operations involve the distribution and retail sale of petroleum products through the Galp-branded service station network across the Iberian Peninsula.

In addition to its traditional oil and gas business, Galp has expanded into power generation and renewable energy. The company operates combined-cycle gas turbine plants in Portugal and Spain, and has developed wind and solar projects to support its strategy of decarbonization and diversification. Galp also engages in international energy trading, leveraging its refining and logistics infrastructure to optimize supply chains and market positions.

Founded in 1999 from the merger of Portugal’s state oil and gas assets, Galp underwent a phased privatization in the early 2000s and restructured in 2012 to form its current holding company structure. Over the years, Galp has forged partnerships with major industry players to gain access to new exploration blocks and to enhance its technological capabilities, particularly in deepwater and ultra-deepwater environments.

The company serves customers primarily in Portugal and Spain, while maintaining a significant presence in Brazil and parts of Africa. With over a thousand service stations, Galp provides fuels, lubricants, and convenience services to retail and commercial clients. Leadership is headed by CEO Andy Brown, appointed in 2021, whose background includes senior roles at leading international oil and gas firms. The board is chaired by Paula Amorim, representing key shareholders and guiding the company’s long-term strategy toward sustainable energy solutions.
