About Broadway Financial

Broadway Financial (NASDAQ:BYFC) is the holding company for City First Bank, N.A., a community-focused bank headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The bank is a federally insured, minority depository institution that provides banking services to individuals, businesses, nonprofit organizations and community development partners.

City First Bank offers deposit accounts, commercial real estate lending, multifamily and small-business financing, treasury management and online banking services. Its lending activities emphasize underserved communities, affordable housing, community facilities and other projects intended to support economic development.

The company traces its roots to Broadway Federal Bank, which was established in Los Angeles in 1946 and became one of the earliest African American-owned federally chartered savings institutions in the United States. In 2021, Broadway Federal Bank combined with City First Bank, a Washington, D.C.-based community development bank, expanding the organization’s presence in both the Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas.
