About E.On

E.On (OTCMKTS:EONGY) is a German energy company headquartered in Essen, Germany. The company focuses primarily on energy networks and customer solutions, rather than conventional power generation. Its activities include operating electricity and gas distribution networks, supplying energy to residential and commercial customers, and providing related services such as heating, energy efficiency solutions and electric-vehicle charging.

E.ON serves customers across several European markets, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands and countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Through its network operations, the company manages infrastructure that connects homes and businesses with electricity and gas supplies. Its customer solutions business supports the transition toward lower-carbon energy through renewable power offerings, decentralized energy systems, energy management and electrification services.

The company was created in 2000 through the merger of the German utilities VEBA and VIAG. In 2016, E.ON transferred much of its conventional generation and trading business to Uniper as part of a strategic shift toward regulated networks and customer-focused energy services. E.ON is led by Chief Executive Officer Leonhard Birnbaum.
