About Alector

Alector (NASDAQ:ALEC) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. The company uses its expertise in the immune system and neurobiology to investigate treatments designed to improve the brain’s ability to respond to disease and promote the removal or containment of harmful proteins and damaged cells.

Alector’s pipeline has included investigational antibody therapies for conditions such as frontotemporal dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. Its lead programs have included latozinemab (AL001), an antibody being developed for frontotemporal dementia associated with progranulin deficiency, and AL002, an antibody targeting TREM2, a protein involved in microglial function. These candidates remain investigational and are not approved treatments.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in South San Francisco, California, Alector conducts research and clinical-development activities through collaborations and studies in multiple geographic regions. The company became publicly traded on the Nasdaq under the symbol ALEC in 2019. Alector was co-founded by Arnon Rosenthal, Ph.D., who has served as its chief executive officer, and its development programs have included partnerships with larger pharmaceutical companies.
