Tesla And BYD Are Reframing An Age Old Stock Market Question
DBS Sticks to Their Buy Rating for BYD Co (BYDDF)
SpaceX pays a 10X launch penalty
SpaceX burns roughly $200,000 in fuel per Falcon 9 launch - about $20 million across 100 missions. One under $5 company's High Altitude Head Start technology could bring that down to $20,000 per launch, or $2 million across 100 missions - a 10X cost advantage. About BYD

BYD (OTCMKTS:BYDDF) is a leading Chinese manufacturer specializing in electric vehicles, rechargeable batteries and renewable energy solutions. Established in 1995 in Shenzhen by entrepreneur Wang Chuanfu, BYD initially focused on the production of nickel-metal hydride batteries before expanding into automotive manufacturing in the early 2000s. The company’s name, an acronym of “Build Your Dreams,” reflects its mission to drive sustainable transportation and energy innovation worldwide.

In its automotive segment, BYD designs and produces a broad range of passenger cars, buses, trucks and commercial vehicles, with a particular emphasis on battery-electric and plug-in hybrid models. Flagship models include the Han sedan, Tang SUV and Dolphin compact car, which leverage the company’s proprietary Blade battery technology for enhanced safety, energy density and longevity. Beyond vehicles, BYD develops and supplies battery systems for consumer electronics, energy storage applications and telecom back-up power.

Complementing its core electric mobility offerings, BYD has expanded into solar energy, rail transit and electronics manufacturing. The company manufactures solar modules and energy storage systems for residential, commercial and utility-scale installations. BYD’s SkyRail and monorail solutions have been deployed in urban transit projects in China, India and Indonesia, providing elevated rail infrastructure designed to alleviate congestion and reduce carbon emissions.

Operating from its headquarters in Shenzhen, BYD maintains production facilities and R&D centers across China, North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. Under the leadership of Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu, the company has pursued strategic partnerships and joint ventures to accelerate international market entry and localize production. BYD’s global footprint and integrated approach to electric mobility and renewable energy position it as a significant player in the transition toward cleaner transportation and power systems.
