About Central Japan Railway

Central Japan Railway (OTCMKTS:CJPRY) Company, also known as JR Central, is a Japanese passenger railway operator headquartered in Nagoya, Japan. Its principal business is providing rail transportation, with a particular focus on high-speed services connecting central Japan with major metropolitan areas.

JR Central operates the Tokaido Shinkansen, one of Japan’s most heavily used high-speed rail routes, linking Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka. The company also runs conventional railway lines primarily in the Tokai region, including Aichi, Gifu, Shizuoka and neighboring prefectures, serving commuters, business travelers and tourists.

In addition to railway operations, JR Central has businesses related to retail, real estate, hotels and other services located in and around its stations. The company was established in 1987 following the breakup and privatization of Japanese National Railways and is one of the regional companies that succeeded it.
