CVR Energy (NYSE:CVI) Trading 4.6% Higher - Time to Buy?
The end may be near for these iconic stocks
Marc Chaikin, founder of Chaikin Analytics, says two forces - AI disruption and fracturing global trade - are triggering a historic wealth transfer already underway in 2026. Household names like Intuit (-57%), Boston Scientific (-49%), and Tractor Supply (-40%) are cratering, while lesser-known companies like Sandisk (+573%) and Rackspace (+444%) surge. Chaikin has identified specific stocks he believes investors should sell before they fall further - and the names may surprise you. He's also pinpointing a company tapped as Nvidia's self-driving partner and a potential AI megadeal that could split into three high-growth stocks. About CVR Energy

CVR Energy (NYSE:CVI), Inc. is an independent downstream energy company engaged primarily in petroleum refining and nitrogen fertilizer production in the United States. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, CVR Energy operates through two reportable segments—Petroleum Products and Nitrogen Fertilizers—leveraging its refining expertise and distribution network to serve both wholesale and retail markets across key regions in the U.S.

In its Petroleum Products segment, the company owns and operates the Coffeyville, Kansas refinery, which has the capability to process various grades of crude oil into gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other refined products. CVR Energy markets and distributes these products through a network of terminals and pipelines, supplying third-party wholesalers, branded distributors and retail outlets. The refinery’s integration into the regional infrastructure helps ensure feedstock flexibility and reliable product delivery to customers in the Midwest and surrounding areas.

The Nitrogen Fertilizers segment comprises two manufacturing facilities located in Enid, Oklahoma, and East Dubuque, Illinois. These plants produce ammonia, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) solutions, and other nitrogen-based fertilizers that are critical for agricultural productivity. By operating in proximity to major corn- and grain-producing regions, CVR Energy is positioned to meet the seasonal demand of farmers and cooperatives, while leveraging its logistics capabilities to optimize supply chain efficiency.

CVR Energy was formed in 2008 as a spin-off of Contran Corporation and has since focused on optimizing its asset base and expanding its product offerings. Jeffrey A. Fisher serves as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, leading a management team dedicated to operational excellence and safety. With a strategic presence in the U.S. heartland, the company continues to explore opportunities for growth in both refining and fertilizer markets.
