About Summit Therapeutics

Summit Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SMMT) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative medicines for the treatment of cancer. The company’s lead program is ivonescimab, an investigational bispecific antibody designed to combine immune checkpoint inhibition against PD-1 with selective inhibition of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). Summit is evaluating ivonescimab in clinical studies involving patients with non-small cell lung cancer and other solid tumors.

Summit has entered into a licensing and collaboration agreement with Akeso, a biotechnology company that discovered and developed ivonescimab. Under the arrangement, Summit is responsible for advancing the therapy in markets outside specified territories, including China, while Akeso continues development and commercialization activities in its retained regions. The companies are studying ivonescimab both as a standalone treatment and in combination with other cancer therapies.

The company has historical roots in the development of therapies for serious infectious diseases but has since concentrated its business primarily on oncology. Summit Therapeutics is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and its shares trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol SMMT. Robert W. Duggan serves as the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.
