About Proto Labs

Proto Labs (NYSE:PRLB), doing business as Protolabs, is a digital manufacturing company that provides rapid prototyping and on-demand production services. Its platform allows product designers and engineers to upload three-dimensional CAD models, receive automated design analysis and pricing, and order custom parts for product development and manufacturing.

The company offers computer numerical control (CNC) machining, injection molding, 3D printing and sheet metal fabrication. These services support a range of applications, including prototype development, functional testing, bridge production and low-volume manufacturing. Protolabs serves customers across industries such as automotive, medical, electronics, aerospace and consumer products.

Founded in 1999 by Larry Lukis, the company initially focused on automating the production of injection-molded prototypes and expanded its capabilities through organic growth and acquisitions. It became a publicly traded company in 2012 and serves customers in North America, Europe and Japan. Robert Bodor has served as president and chief executive officer since 2021.
