About Axcelis Technologies

Axcelis Technologies (NASDAQ:ACLS) (NASDAQ: ACLS) develops and manufactures equipment used in semiconductor fabrication. The company’s primary business is ion implantation, a process that modifies the electrical properties of silicon and other semiconductor materials by introducing controlled amounts of dopants. Its systems are used by chip manufacturers to produce a range of semiconductor devices.

Axcelis offers the Purion family of ion implantation systems, including platforms designed for high-current, medium-current and high-energy applications. The company also provides related semiconductor processing equipment, aftermarket services, spare parts, and customer support intended to help manufacturers maintain and optimize their production lines.

Headquartered in Beverly, Massachusetts, Axcelis serves semiconductor manufacturers and other customers in major technology markets worldwide. The company traces its origins to the semiconductor equipment operations of Eaton Corporation and became an independent public company in 2000. Axcelis is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Russell Low.
